Woke up at 5.11am, showered and packed the last of the camper and left Esperance at 7.50am. Took a few photos of the salt flats outside of Esperance and also the burnt areas where the fire had been a month previously, collected a charred nut and glass bottle that had been burnt on one side and clear on the other where it had been buried in the ground.
Instead of driving straight to Norseman we took the Dundas Rocks Historic Trail, took a few photos and landed in Norseman at 11.45am. After stopping for a toilet break and getting fuel we noticed how nice the local outdoor pool looked, it opened at 12 midday so we decided to take a quick dip. Had the place all to ourselves basically, with one other lady and toddler there. Loads of wasps flying around the pool just in top of the water which freaked Lily out. Really lovely pool and grounds, wasn’t overly chlorinated which was great.
Had lunch just outside of Frazers Range, made a ham and cheese sandwich which we all agreed was delicious, thanks Rick.
Filled up at Balledonia.
Saw 4 dead cows on the side of the road. Stopped to take a photo of the zebra crossing in the middle of nowhere and heaven help us a car pulled up on the opposite side of the road directly alongside our car. They were an Asian couple whose under body protection had come off of their Jeep. We stopped to ask if we could help, they were lovely, were moving from Perth to Melbourne.
Decided to camp the night at a free camp 100km from Caiguna, great spot off the road and amongst the trees but what pigs people are, glass bottles absolutely everywhere. Lily and I collected a whole garbage bad full in a few minutes
